Many Shahirs like Shahir Lakhmu Ingole, Kundlik Ingole, Sitaram Chowgule, Bhairu Chowgule, Ganpat Shegar were born in this tribe, but none came to the fore except Chhagan Chowgule. His art was only useful for sustenance and did not turn into wealth.
